Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR) Part 1 Course Updated

In celebration of World Antimicrobial Awareness Week (WAAW) 2021, USAID Medicines, Technologies and Pharmaceutical Services (MTaPS) and GHPOD II are excited to relaunch an updated version of Part 1 of the Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR) e-learning course on the Global Health eLearning Center (GHeL). During WAAW and beyond, this course will expand the knowledge of health care professionals worldwide on the basic principles of AMR, its impact on individuals and societies, and important international initiatives to combat it.

This course is now up to date with newer research and other information on AMR and emphasizes the continually increasing threat that AMR poses not just to individuals, but also to achieving major global health goals, such as universal health coverage and the Sustainable Development Goals. In addition, the course briefly summarizes the growing international response to AMR, most notably from the World Health Organization and the Global Health Security Agenda. It also touches on the critical importance of multisectoral coordination to advance the One Health approach to containing AMR.
