Coming Soon! A new course on the Total Market Approach

A total market approach (TMA) is one lens that donors can use to develop private sector-based strategies that increase access to priority health products in a sustainable manner.  This type of approach helps grow the market for priority health products by better targeting free or subsidized goods and creating room for the private sector to increase its provision of health commodities.

This upcoming course will not spotlight one specific approach, but will instead focus on providing lessons to guide donors on how they should use their money to leverage the private sector and improve access and sustainability of donor-supported health programs. Although TMAs can theoretically be applied to the provision of priority health services, there are very few real world cases of stakeholders doing so. Due to the increased complexity and relative lack of examples for services, this course will focus on how donors can use a market approach to develop strategies for health products only.
