"Confronting Gender Based Violence: Global Lessons with Case Studies from India" is a free Massive, Open, Online course (MOOC) that will run from September 7 through October 17. It will introduce participants from the health care sector to gender-based violence (GBV), including global epidemiology of GBV, health outcomes, seminal research, policy and ethical guidelines, and clinical best practices for GBV prevention, support, and management.
The course is designed for social workers, physicians, nurses, midwives, community health workers, counselors, and other health care workers to help them assess, treat, and care for patients who are survivors of gender-based violence. The material is also relevant for public health practitioners, policymakers, and researchers who want to better address GBV in their patient and client populations and to understand more about GBV and its health impact.
