Social and Behavior Change Communication (SBCC)

SBCC makes a conscious and consistent effort to address social factors that influence health. Although change often starts with an individual, it needs to be manifested in social norm change, group change, policy or structural change in order to be sustainable. SBCC therefore, includes approaches like social mobilization and advocacy that are typically not included in traditional definitions of BCC but more often of social marketing.
