Overnutrition

Overnutrition, which includes both over weight and obesity, is increasingly common in the developing world. Over consumption (of calories and/or specific nutrients) can lead to high blood pressure and stroke, diabetes, heart disease, and certain kinds of cancer. In adults a body mass index (BMI) greater than 25 indicates overnutrition. In children, a weight-for-height (WFH) or BMI-for-age greater than +2 z-scores indicates overnutrition.
